Sad reflection

I've been updating this account far more regularly lately but I feel it's not working out. When I joined ten years ago social media wasn't really mainstream and Deviantart acted in much the same way as Facebook, Instagram or even MySpace. It was a community and I met lots of great people on here, many of whom have moved on from here.
It's no surprise that the newfound freedom to begin creating art again resulted in a proper return to this site where I had engaged and been engaged with and by artwork. With the changes in layout, functions, and the general vibe being far more fragmented and cold, it felt alien. It was like seeing a great friend for the first time in years but she's had major plastic surgery done and her personality is barely recognisable anymore.
This mixed with the lack of viewership and apparent lack of enthusiasm for my work, makes this a very strange and sad place. The glory days are gone and the last vestiges seem to comprise mostly of anime fanart. I don't feel I have a place here anymore.
To this end I have reluctantly decided that I will continue to post my work.on here until the year's end and then I will cease to update permanently. This account will remain active so that I can use it to display my work outside of Facebook and Instagram as a kind of museum of my artistic journey over the past decade. Beyond that, this account serves no real function anymore.
In the meantime I will continue to post when I can for those that are still watching.

Hello again

To all those who I have not spoken to in over a year in my deviantabsence - sorry.
I had no idea that I had been away so long! Life got in the way I'm afraid - I'm now working as an integration aide in a secondary school, stuying the rest of the time for a BA at Uni and all my family stuff too, my son recently turned 3!
I intend to upload some more of my artwork as soon as I can digitise it and access the web (I have no internet at home, you see).

Captains Log: Stardate 23:08:20:09:19:31

Many months have passed since I last submitted here. Things have been conspiring to stop the progress of my gallery - fluxes in space-time have made it impossible to gain adequate access to resources. Mr. Spock has recommended returning to dock and repairing the tachyon circuits and replacing the flux capacitor. Malfunctions abound. The scanner is inoperable and the connection to the data cloud is flimsy at best.
This having been said, I am making every effort possible to rectify this. I will be submitting recently completed projects as soon as they are converted to suitable file types for perusal. In the meantime I have created another space to upload files www.ironoutlaw56.blogspot.com - it can be viewed by anyone with enough spare time on their hands.
There is a roast for dinner. Yum.

I'm STILL ALIIIIIVE!!!

Yes that's right. I apologise that I've been away so long for all of you that have been commenting and checking in - life's been pretty crazy since Dash.
In between moving house, raising a son, working (now unemployed however), and infrequent visits to the john as one must do to make sure one doesn't explode, I just haven't had access to the proper facilities to update! My scanner is in storage and our computer is busted (not that we had internet access anyway - I'm on my mum's computer), which mos def puts a cramp on things. So now that I have access to this stuff a bit more now I think I'll start putting up the 10 months or so worth of art that my devotees have been waiting for.
I'm still trying to catch up on the goss - apparently lots of people were happy about Obama becoming president - he has a great smile doesn't he? Wonderful!
Anyhoo, I'll start uploading soon - thanks for watching

Thankyou to everyone thqat gave us congratulations and kind words on my last entry. Sorry it's been so long in between journals and stuff but as I'm sure you can imagine balancing work and a new baby leaves very little time for other things. Hopefully soon I'll be able to add some more stuff, a few photos of Dash at least. I'll try and put some stuff up now.
